Marauders hit for a trio of national marks during big weekend performances

CALIFORNIA and NORTH DAKOTA – Taking advantage of racing in the sunlight of California, the University of Mary followed up a strong midweek meet at the Pacific Coast Invitational in Long Beach, CA, with an impressive day two at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday, April 15, in Azusa, CA.
 
Already the owner of one of the nation's best times in the 400 meter hurdles, Morgan Hertz found another gear at the Bryan Clay Invite. The junior from Mott, ND, set a personal best time of 1:00.39. Her NCAA provisional qualifying time ranks her 7th in the nation and 2nd among Northern Sun competitors.
 
Sakena Massiah turned in the fastest time of her career in the 200 meter dash when she turned in a blazing clocking of 24.07 seconds. The sophomore ranks 26th nationally with her provisional qualifying mark and is 5th in the NSIC.
 
Arianna Passeri also picked up an NCAA provo mark, her second of the week, when she connected for a mark of 5.98 meters in the long jump to place 9th. The senior from Rosemount, MN, won the Pacific Coast Invitational when she hit on a jump of 6.11 meters, a personal outdoor best.
 
After setting a career-best in the 800 days earlier, Kiran Green followed with a personal best time of 4:43.37 in the 1500 meter run.
 
Grace Acheson posted a career-best time in the 800 (2:19.16).
Competing in her 3rd 10K of her UMary career, Andrijana Fundak ran the event in a personal best time of 36.41.97.
 
The Marauders also found success in their home state at the Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson, ND, on Sunday, April 16.
 
Rachael Neu won the 800 in a time of 2:24.57.
 
Ellen Moore won the 1500 in a personal best time of 5:07.78.
 
Lizzy Folk was the top finisher in the 5000 meter run (20:45.97).
 
Antonia Genet claimed the win in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.63 meters.
 
Taylor Weidner had the top mark in the long jump at 5.48 meters and was second in the triple jump (10.99 meters).
 
Kendall Berg had a pair of collegiate bests as she placed 3rd in the 100 (13.03 seconds) and 4th in the 200 (27.07 seconds).
 
Jerrica Pachl was 3rd in the 400 with a personal best time of 1:01.25. She took second in the high jump with a career-best mark of 1.63 meters.
 
In the hurdles, Tia Horning was 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles (15.39) and Danalee Brock was 3rd in the 400 (1:05.62).
 
Nicole Kramchynsky was third in the javelin (36.81 meters).
 
Next up for the Marauders is the Al Bortke Open on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND. The meet was rescheduled from earlier in the month.
