BISMARCK, ND – After an impressive weekend on the road, the University of Mary Tennis team (3-0, 2-0 NSIC) continues their journey taking their perfect start to the season to Orlando, FL. The Marauders will play four spring break matches March 1-5. For a couple first time matchups, UMary will take on Adrian College Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 following with Warner University Friday at 12:30 pm. The Marauders then face Eckerd College Saturday at 11:30am, followed by their third first time matchup against Michigan Technical University on Sunday morning at 10:30.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Marauders collected two impressive wins over University of Minnesota Duluth (5-2, 2-1 NSIC) and St. Cloud State University (1-3, 0-3 NSIC), both being 5-2 victories.
Chole Chong was honored with NSIC Tennis Player of the Week after defeating UMD's Shay Callaway 6-4, 6-1 and dominating the match over St. Cloud's Orianna Grott 6-0, 6-0 at #1 singles. Chong and
Ilona Freitag also secured two more wins as the #1 doubles pair.

Hala Hossam Awad in both singles and doubles added to the Marauders confident victories for the weekend.
OPPONENTS
Adrian College comes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) with an overall record of 3-5-1. Sunday and Monday, the Adrian Bulldogs fell to Moravian University (4-5), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (3-6), and Warner University (2-5). Despite an arduous start to the season, the bulldogs look to gain experience before they begin conference play.
Warner University comes from the Sun Conference with an overall record of 1-6. The Sun Conference competes in the NAIA. Warner University looks to boost its record and confidence throughout this series of Spring Break matchups.
Eckerd College is from the Sunshine State Conference and enters the week with an overall record of 1-3 and 0-3 in conference. Last weekend, Eckerd was defeated by both Florida Southern College (6-1) and Embry-Riddle University (7-0). Eckerd holds the upper hand over UMary with a historical record of 2-0 since 2014. The Marauders look to turn those tides this week in their matchup on Saturday, March 4.
Michigan Technological University comes from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an overall record of 1-2. After two postponed matches last weekend, the Huskies look forward to the opportunity to show their skill this week in Florida.
THE STAFF
Vida Saliendra returns for her 11th year as the UMary Head Tennis Coach. Saliendra has had an impressive career at the helm of Marauders Tennis, riding into 2023 on four consecutive winning seasons. The Marauders are 86-75 with Saliendra as their coach. She is joined by assistant coach Erik Porter, who is in his first season with the Marauders.
