Marauders Athletics launches #ForTheShip



BISMARCK, ND - In a strategic move aimed at reshaping the image and reach of the University of Mary Athletics program for the current athletic season and beyond, Marauders Athletics is transitioning to the fresh and dynamic hashtag #ForTheShip. The new #ForTheShip hashtag has been carefully crafted and reviewed to address these challenges while connecting with the university's identity and ambitions.
 
"The opportunity to reimagine and reinforce our social media presence was a significant one for Marauders Athletics," said University of Mary Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Cooper Jones.  "Our Athletics Communications & Promotions team, led by Brian Larson and supported by Carson Henry, took the lead on this project and truly delivered results."
 
#ForTheShip is a carefully constructed and meaningful replacement for #HooksUp. #ForTheShip embodies the core values and aspirations of the University of Mary and its athletics program. Additionally "The Ship" in the new hashtag holds a dual meaning:
 
  • "The Ship" symbolizes the University of Mary and all that it represents. This part of the hashtag is a direct nod to the university's identity and values, ensuring that it uniquely represents UMary and doubles as a nod to our athletics mascot.
  • Beyond the university, "The Ship" signifies the athletics department's commitment to working tirelessly to bring championships to the University of Mary. "The Ship" is a common phrase for a championship. It encapsulates the competitive spirit and the desire for excellence that defines the Marauders Athletics program.
 
This dual meaning makes #ForTheShip a unifying and powerful hashtag that encapsulates the essence of the University of Mary and its athletic goals.
 
"Marauders Athletics move to #ForTheShip is both dynamic and carefully-crafted, allowing our department to align more closely with the university's values," stated Jones. "I really like the duality of striving for championships while at the same time honoring the university.
