BILLINGS, MT - In a thrilling display of endurance and determination, the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open witnessed some impressive performances in men's cross country. The University of Mary competed against teams from across the region to compete in the men's 8k event, and the competition did not disappoint in the Marauders final tune-up before the start of championship season.

UMary put up a strong performance, finishing fifth out of 10 teams with a total time of 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 28 seconds. Their average time per runner was 25 minutes and 53 seconds, resulting in a total score of 122 points.

South Dakota Mines led the pack with a team total of 79 points. Carroll (MT) placed second with 84 points.
Top UMary Individual Performers
- Guillermo Fregoso, a senior, displayed exceptional strength and stamina. He secured the ninth position with a solid time of 25 minutes and 6.6 seconds, contributing significantly to the Marauders success.
Caleb Hansen, a sophomore, followed closely behind his teammate. Hansen claimed the tenth spot with a commendable time of 25 minutes and 9.2 seconds, further solidifying the team's position in the competition.
Eli Hansen, a freshman, made a significant impact by finishing in the 18th position with a time of 25 minutes and 28.5 seconds.
Luke Fundak, another freshman, contributed to the team's success, securing the 71st position with a time of 27 minutes and 28.5 seconds.
Max Lefor, a sophomore, showcased his dedication by finishing 83rd with a time of 28 minutes and 32.4 seconds.
