Melbo, Argent tie for 4th to pace Marauders at USF Invitational

LARCHWOOD, IA- In the world of collegiate golf, the University of Mary Marauders once again showcased their remarkable talent and determination at the USF Invitational. This two-day golf tournament, which took place at The Falls, located in Larchwood, Iowa, featured strong competition and challenging conditions. Despite the fierce contest, the Marauders secured a respectable 3rd place finish in the 8-team field.
 
The Marauders top performers during the tournament were Gavin Argent and Dawson Melbo. Both players showcased their skill and composure as they shared the fourth position in the individual standings with identical scores of 146.
 
Argent's consistent play, with rounds of 72 and 74, was critical in securing the Marauders third-place finish at the USF Invitational. Melbo's exceptional golfing prowess, with rounds of 70 and 76, was equally pivotal in the Marauders' success.
 
Evan Booth finished 12th with a score of 149 (75-74). One shot back in 17th was Zach Johnson (72-78-150).
 
These extraordinary performances by Argent and Melbo contributed significantly to the University of Mary's impressive team total of 589, securing their third-place finish in the tournament. The Marauders finished just one stroke behind 2nd place Augustana and just three shots behind tournament champion and host University of Sioux Falls.
 
The USF Invitational was the Marauders final meet of the fall season.
