Brock shines on track for Marauders at UND Open

GRAND FORKS, ND – On the heels of a pair of strong weekend performances for the University of Mary men's and women's indoor track & field teams, UMary sent a smaller contingent of competitors than typical to the UND Open but the Marauders continued to shine.

Danalee Brock paced a strong performance for the Marauders in the 400 meter dash as three UMary runners placed in the top 13. The 11 other finishers in the top 14 all represented NCAA Division I programs.

Brock claimed 6th with a time of 58.02 seconds. She missed the NCAA provisional qualifying mark by .99 seconds. Ava Grimm claimed 9th in 59.06 seconds and Grace Acheson finished 13th in 1:00.22.

Acheson (2:25.01) and Grimm (2:25.01) later finished 9-10 in the 800 meter run with both clocked in the same time.

Terez Wycklendt finished 5th overall in the 3000 meter run (10:45.91).

Tia Horning earned a slot in the 60 meter hurdle finals. She cleared the barriers in 9.03 in the preliminaries before clocking a time of 9.29 seconds in the championship round. Horning missed the qualifying standards by .18 seconds.

UMary next competes at the North Dakota State University Bison Open on February 3-4 in Fargo, ND.
