LAKE CITY, MN – A pair of top-10 individual finishes by
Carrie Carmichael and Emily St. Aubyn lifted the University of Mary to a runner-up finish at the Watkins Invitational.
Held at The Jewel Golf Course, the Marauders carded a 676 team score to finish second in the 5-team invitational. UMary shot a 335 on day one before posting a score of 341 on day two. Host Winona State University captured the event with a total score of 646. Winona State's B squad placed third (701) followed by Minot State (714) and Upper Iowa (750).
Tied for first after an opening round of 77, Carmichael carded a 81 on day two to finish second at 158, five shots behind victor Carly Moon of WSU (153).
St. Aubyn finished tied for 7
th (84-83=167), 14 shots of the pace.
Kaleigh Carmichael (86-89=175) placed 13
th out of 28 competitors while
Grace Stroh (88-88=176) was one stroke behind in 14
th.
Abby Thelen (97-95=192) and
Alli Hulst (96-96=192) finished tied for 21
st.
