Marauders show day two improvements at Watkins Invitational

LAKE CITY, MN – Improvements across the board from day one to day two for the University of Mary men's golf team headlined the Marauders effort at the Watkins Invitational. UMary showed a 13 stroke improvement on the second day.
 
A consistent two days from Gavin Argent led the Marauders. Argent shot a 78 each day for a 2-day total of 156 to place 42nd overall, 12 shots off the lead.
 
Argent was the only Marauder whose score didn't improve over the 2-day meet at The Jewell Golf Course.
 
Cody Brunner (84-77=161) showed the biggest improvement with a 7-stroke drop and finished 53rd in the 88-player meet. Alex Wilson (83-81=164) and Logan Barrett (85-81=166) were close behind.
 
Hunter Keller (100-96=196) rounded out the Marauders squad.
 
Overall the Marauders finished with a 2-day total of 647, shooting a 330 on Monday before combining for a 317 on day two. Host Winona State won the15-team meet with a score of 588.
