Luke Little receives NFL invite to Chicago Bears rookie camp

BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary All-American Luke Little, the NCAA all-divisions leader in touchdown receptions in 2021, received an invitation to attend the rookie camp of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). The NCAA all-divisions leader in touchdown receptions in 2021, Little will attend the Bears rookie camp next weekend.

Should Little earn a contract with Chicago following the rookie camp, he would next attend the Bears OTA camp.

Little wrapped up his Marauders career in spectacular fashion. The senior wide receiver set a new team record with 20 touchdown catches, a total that leads players in all four divisions of NCAA football. He finished 2021 with 82 catches for 1,282 yards.

On top of leading the nation in touchdown receptions, the Bismarck, ND, native and Century High School (CHS) graduate concluded NCAA Division II regular season play 5th in receiving yards/game (114.7), 6th in receiving yards, 7th in receptions, 7th in receptions per game (7.5), 7th in total touchdowns, 7th in total points scored and 8th in scoring/game (10.9 points/game).

The NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a win over Minot State in the Battle for the Big Lake, Little scored a touchdown in 10 out of 11 games and caught multiple touchdowns in a game eight times. He also cleared the century mark in yardage seven times.

A two-time All-Northern Sun selection (2018, 2021), Little caught 155 passes for 2,403 yards and 30 touchdowns in his Marauders career. He ranks 2nd all-time at UMary in touchdown receptions, 3rd in total touchdowns, 6th in catches, and 6th in receiving yards.

In addition to his work on the gridiron, Little caught the attention of NFL scouts with his size, speed, strength, and all-around athletic ability. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds, Little ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times.

Little has already graduated from the University of Mary with an undergraduate degree in business and his master's in business administration (MBA). The Northern Sun All-Academic team member was chosen as UMary's 2021-22 NSIC Male Honor Student-Athlete of the Year.

Little is the most recent Marauders football player from the program's NCAA era to receive an opportunity with the NFL, joining Shawn Melland (2009), EJ Reid (2010), Josh Murray (2012) and John Oyloe (2014). Reid made the strongest bid, as he was invited to the St. Louis Rams fall training camp and saw action in preseason contests.
