BLUE SPRINGS, MO –
Cody Brunner continued his great run on the final day of the NSIC Men's Conference Championships. Brunner helped lead the University of Mary men's golf team to a team-best eighth-place finish at the NSIC Championships after recording a team score of 927.
Concordia University, St. Paul won with a team score of 882. CSP was followed by Winona State University (891), Upper Iowa University (901), Bemidji State University (907), the University of Minnesota Crookston (913), Minnesota State University (913), Augustana University (925), UMary (927), Minot State University (934) and University of Sioux Falls (937).
"We continue to show improvement through the year, with our last two rounds being our best. We peaked for the conference tournament, and we are looking forward to the fall season," head coach
Laif Olson.
Brunner shot one-under-par for the day which gave him a three-day score of 224. Brunner finished in a tie for seventh place, the highest finish in Marauders history. Last season Brunner placed in a tie for 21
st after shooting a 229.
Following Brunner was
Alex Wilson and
Gavin Argent, who both finished in a tie for 39
th. Argent and Wilson shot a 237 over the three-day tournament.
Benett Persoon recorded a total score of 243 after shooting an 88 on day three, which put him in a tie for 47
th. Wrapping up the UMary lineup was
Tyce Halter, who for the second straight day recorded a score of 78 on the final day. Halter finished with a combined score of 246, which earned him 49
th place.
This concludes the Marauders 2021-22 regular season.
