Barnhardt takes fourth at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships

ST. LOUIS, MO – University of Mary wrestler Reece Barnhardt wrapped up a tremendous day at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 133-pound weight class.

This is the highest finish that a UMary wrestler has had in the NCAA Division II era. Barnhardt went 4-2 over the two-day event and became the 46th wrestler to earn All-American status.

#6 Barnhardt (133) opened day two with an impressive performance against Millersville University's Devin Flannery, winning by a 9-5 decision.

The Bismarck, ND, native advanced to the third-place match after defeating Limestone University's Majid Corbett by an 8-6 decision win.

Barnhardt fell short on receiving the bronze as he lost an 11-3 major decision to the University of Nebraska at Kearney's Wesley Dawkins.

UMary earned a total of 17 team points, which placed the Marauders in a tie for 21st place.
