BISMARCK, ND – When the University of Mary football team takes the field on their home turf for the first time in 22 months this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 11, the Marauders will honor First Responders on the 20
th anniversary of 9/11. First Responders with local police, emergency medical services, fire and sheriff departments and the North Dakota National Guard will be recognized throughout the game.
Kickoff between UMary and Augustana is set for 2 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Tailgating officially commences at 10:30 am.
All First Responders and a guest are admitted to the Marauders game free by displaying their professional credentials.
Marauders football helmets will be adorned with "Never Forget 9-11-01" American flag decals and players will help unfurl a large American flag on the field for the National Anthem.
Dakota Community Bank & Trust is the game sponsor for the Marauders home opener and First Responders Day. Complimentary tickets to the UMary-Augie football game are available at area Dakota Community Bank & Trust locations.
The University of Mary Gary Tharaldson School of Business will also be recognized during the game. Business School faculty and a guest will be admitted free to the game with their MCard. Each home game Marauders football honors one of the academic schools at UMary.
Saturday's home opener festivities begins when the tailgating area opens at 10:30 am in the north parking lot at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. The UMary football team walks through Marauders Alley at 11:45 pm.
Game tickets for Marauders athletics are available online at www.UMaryTickets.com and at the gate. Adult tickets are $15 while senior citizen and youth tickets (13-18 years old) are $8. UMary students and faculty with their MCard and youth 12 and younger are admitted free.
