BEMIDJI, MN –
Cody Brunner had a great performance for the University of Mary men's golf team in the Bemidji State Men's Golf Invitational as he finished in the top 10. Brunner finished in a tie for seventh after shooting 149 over the two days.
UMary finished in seventh place in their first tournament of the 2021-22 season with a team score of 637. Concordia College won the tournament with a team score of 596, followed by Bemidji State (604), Concordia University, St. Paul (607), Augustana University (609), Minnesota State University – Mankato (609) and Minot State University (611).
"Overall, I was pleased. We have a young team with a lot of talent and it was great to see Cody get a top 10 finish," head coach
Michael Herzog said.
Benett Persoon placed in a tie for 38
th in his first collegiate game after shooting 160 for the tournament.
Gavin Argent shot a 161 which put the freshmen in 43
rd place.
Logan Barrett and
Alex Wilson placed in a tie for 49
th as they each shot 168 for the tournament. Rounding out the Marauders lineup was
Jackson Gilchrist who finished 52
nd after shooting 173.
The Marauders return to action on Thursday, September 16 as they travel to Dickinson, ND, to compete in the Dickinson State Invitational.
