Narbuvoll named Academic All-America Team Member of Year, Morris earns 2nd team Academic All-America honors from CoSIDA

AUSTIN, Texas | Ida Narbuvoll of the University of Mary is the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division II Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team Member of the Year and headlines the 45-memberAcademic All-American team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Narbuvoll becomes UMary's 1st CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year.
 
D'Andra Morris also joins Narbuvoll in earning Academic All-America honors, claiming second team recognition.
 
The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® teams' program.
 
A two-time national champion and the USTFCCCA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, Narbuvoll posted a 3.76 GPA while earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and owns a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in project management. She was also named the USTFCCCA Scholar Track Athlete of the Year for NCAA Division II, a Honda Athlete of the Year finalist and an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
 
Narbuvoll was the 2021 Northern Sun Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year after winning three titles at the conference championships. The North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters College Female Athlete of the Year, Narbuvoll is a native of Norway and won the 10,000 and the 5,000 meter runs at the 2021 NCAA outdoor championships. She broke the 36-year meet NCAA championship meet record in the 5K by over 20 seconds and now owns the second-best mark ever recorded in Division II history. A three-time NSIC Athlete of the Week in 2021 who won all eight times she raced this spring, Narbuvoll is a nine-time All-American.
 
A two-time national runner-up in 2021, Morris owns a 3.70 GPA while majoring in Business Administration/Marketing. The senior from Kingston, Jamaica, finished second in the triple jump at both the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor and Outdoor national championships.
 
Morris is a four-time All-American in her distinguished Marauders career and has qualified for five straight national championship meets. She was the 2021 NSIC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year after winning the conference triple jump title and scoring 21 team points for the Marauders championship team. Also the 2020 NSIC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, Morris owns eight conference individual titles. She is a 6-time member of the NSIC all-academic team.
 
Narbuvoll and Morris join John Oyloe (2013 Football 1st team) and Andrew Beyer (2017 Baseball 3rd team) as the lone CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in UMary history.
