BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary softball team competes at home against Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, April 21, in a doubleheader beginning at 2 pm. After this homestand, the Marauders will travel for a four-game road trip over the weekend with visits to the University of Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State.
HOME GAME SPECTATOR POLICY
University of Mary softball games are closed to the public. Guests will only be admitted to the games if they are on the Family & Friends list submitted by the Marauders softball program or the Visiting Fans list determined by the opposing head coach.
UMary student-athletes and coaches are allowed to distribute a limited number of will-call passes to family members and fans. Individuals must be on the pass list to be admitted into the game. For visiting teams, a limited number of will-call passes are available to the visiting team with distribution determined by the opposing head coach. Masking is required for all spectators in attendance regardless of state and local guidance. Additionally, fans must follow all Covid-19 safety, sanitation, and social distancing guidelines.
LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders went 2-2 in their home games over the weekend, sweeping a doubleheader against Wayne State College before losing two games to #1 Augustana University.
UMary won game one of the doubleheader against WSC after Eryn De Jonge hit a walk-off single to center field scoring her sister Brooke De Jonge in a 9-8 win. The Marauders offense continued to be excellent in game two as UMary won 10-5. Kaylee Kannegiesser had a great series against WSC as she hit two home runs and drove in four runs while going 5-for-8.

UMary enters Saturday with a 4-23 record and a 3-11 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

MSUM is 7-22 and 5-10 in the NSIC. The Dragons currently sit in 12th place in the NSIC. Senior third baseman Emma Dummer leads MSUM in batting average (.329), hits (26), RBIs (12), slugging percentage (.418) and OPS (772). Junior pitcher Anna Lang has the best ERA on the team at 5.59 and has struck out 39 batters in 81 and 1/3rd innings pitched. Head coach Amanda Reckamp is in her third season in charge of the Dragons. During her tenure, the Dragons have gone 24-66 over that time.

STATS TO WATCH
- Mariah Sanchez leads the team with 28 hits as she has a .329 batting average and a .412 on-base percentage. She also is slugging .412 and has an OPS of 824.
- Eryn De Jonge is second on the team with 24 hits and currently has a .329 batting average.
- Kaylee Kannegiesser leads the team with 13 RBIs and has a .275 batting average with two home runs.
- Devyn Ritz is hitting .289 on the year and has a 755 OPS.
- Brooke De Jonge has 18 hits in her first season as a Marauder and batting .261.
- Alissa Alvarado has struck out 44 hitters in 70 and 1/3 innings and has a 7.17 ERA.
UMARY ROSTER RUNDOWN
The Marauders bring back several big bats from last year, such as senior catcher/outfielder Rachael Laetsch who returns to the Marauders after having an on-base percentage of .435 and led the team with 10 walks. Last season Laetsch made no errors behind the plate and had 10 assists with 59 putouts.
Senior first basemen Kasidy Chileen has been a starter since her freshmen year for UMary. She hit .320 and drove in 33 runs in 2019. Other returning starters include Mariah Sanchez, Haley Berube and Mikaela Pelesauma.
To bolster the lineup, Roan brought in five new freshmen to the team. The freshmen include Brooke De Jonge, Levi Luna, Nichole Eckhardt, Alissa Alvarado and Mackenzie Reinhardt.
