ST. CLOUD, MN - The University of Mary women's basketball team (6-5, 1-2 Northern Sun) hits the road as they travel to St. Cloud, MN, to compete against St. Cloud State University (5-1, 3-0 NSIC) on Friday, December 10, at 7:30 pm. UMary then takes on the University of Minnesota Duluth in Duluth (4-3, 2-1 NSIC), MN, on Saturday, December 11, at 5:30 pm.
Last Time Out
The Marauders went 1-1 last weekend as they defeated Minnesota State University Moorhead 82-49. UMary would go on to lose a close contest 66-59 to Northern State University.
Lexie Schneider led the team in scoring against MSUM with 15 points while also grabbing five rebounds.
Addison Rozell contributed 14 points off the bench and earned four rebounds.
Ryleigh Wacha scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
Megan Zander had a team-high seven assists while also scoring six points and collecting five rebounds.
Macy Williams contributed nine points while also earning four assists and three steals.
About The Opposition
St. Cloud State University has gotten off to a hot start as SCSU is 5-1 overall while going 3-0 in the Northern Sun. Junior guard Brehna Evans and senior forward Nikki Kilboten lead the Huskies in scoring with 12.7 ppg. Kilboten also leads SCSU in rebounding with 7.8 rpg, while Kilboten leads the team in assists with 15 total.
The University of Minnesota Duluth has begun the season with a 4-3 record overall while going 2-1 in the NSIC. Senior forward Brooke Olson leads the NSIC in scoring as she averages 20.9 ppg. Olson also leads UMD in rebounding with 5.1 rpg. Leading the Bulldogs in assists is senior guard Maesyn Thiesen with 35 total assists.

Rick Neumann is fourth all-time in coaching wins at UMary with 139. In his ninth season, he has a record of 139-122. Hall of Fame coach Roger Haug is the Marauders all-time leader in wins (234), followed by Fred Fridley (170), Cal Collins (150) and Neumann (139).
UMary brought in two assistant coaches
Brooke LeMar and
Chloe Wanink for the 2020-21 season. LeMar was a two-time all-conference after spending her collegiate career at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University. She then went on to play professionally in several countries including Denmark, Germany, Australia and Sweden. LeMar worked as the Director of Player Development at the California Baptist University.
Wanink was a four-year all-conference performer at NCAA Division I Wofford University. She was a three-year captain at Wofford and led the Southern Conference in scoring her junior season averaging 21 points per game. She was named the 2019-20 SoCon Preseason Player of the Year and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard watchlist.

Voit led the team in total three-pointers made with 22 while averaging 7.9 ppg.
Williams was first in the NSIC in assists with 75. Williams ranks 7
th all-time for the University of Mary in assists.
