BILLINGS, MT - The University of Mary women's basketball team begins the 2021-22 regular season as they will take part in the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead hosted by Montana State University Billings in Billings, MT.
UMary takes on Kutztown University on Friday, November 5, at 1:15 pm. The Marauders then compete against Nova Southeastern University on Saturday, November 6, at 12 pm. UMary finishes off the D2CCA Tipoff Classic by taking on Seton Hill University at 9 am.
Last Time Out
The Marauders had a dominant performance over Concordia College as UMary won 75-42. The Marauders NSIC Player to Watch
Lexie Schneider had 10 points and seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of action.
Cadee Ryckman scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting in nine minutes of action.
Megan Zander had eight points while shooting 2-of-3 from three in her first game at UMary.
About The Opposition
Kutztown University went 18-11 overall and 15-7 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference for the 2019-20 season. Senior guard Rylee Derr was the Golden Bears leading score in 2019-20 as she averaged 15.4 ppg. Derr also lead the team in rebounding (6.2 rpg) and was second in assists (67). Junior forward Casey Remolde returns to the Golden Bears after being second on the team in scoring with 10.8 ppg.
Nova Southeastern University last competed in the 2019-20 season and earned a 14-14 record overall while going 10-10 in the Sunshine State Conference. NSU is projected to finish second in the SSC. Senior guard Hailey Conley is the Sharks leading returning scorer as she averaged 13 ppg. Conley also led the team in three-pointers made with 65.
Seton Hill University went 14-15 overall while going 8-14 in the PSAC for the 2019-20 season. Senior forward Katie Nolan was the Griffins leading scorer and rebounder during the 2019-20 season as she averaged 13.6 ppg and 9.1 rpg. Leading the team in assists was senior guard Cheyenne Trest who had 106 total assists.
Returners
Notable returners to the Marauders include
Macy Williams,
Lexie Schneider and
Megan Voit. Schneider led the NSIC in rebounding and was second on the team in scoring with 12.5 ppg.
Voit led the team in total three-pointers made with 22 while averaging 7.9 ppg.
Williams was first in the NSIC in assists with 75. Williams ranks 7
th all-time for the University of Mary in assists.

Coaches
Head coach
Rick Neumann is fourth all-time in coaching wins at UMary with 133. In his ninth season, he has a record of 133-117. Hall of Fame coach Roger Haug is the Marauders all-time leader in wins (234), followed by Fred Fridley (170), Cal Collins (150) and Neumann (133).
UMary brought in two assistant coaches
Brooke LeMar and
Chloe Wanink for the 2020-21 season. LeMar was a two-time all-conference after spending her collegiate career at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University. She then went on to play professionally in several countries including Denmark, Germany, Australia and Sweden. LeMar worked as the Director of Player Development at the California Baptist University.
Wanink was a four-year all-conference performer at NCAA Division I Wofford University. She was a three-year captain at Wofford and led the Southern Conference in scoring her junior season averaging 21 points per game. She was named the 2019-20 SoCon Preseason Player of the Year and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard watchlist.
