BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary women's basketball team (4-3) opens NSIC competition in Minot, ND, to compete against their in-state rivals Minot State University (2-5) on Tuesday, November 23, at 5:30 pm. UMary then hosts Presentation College (2-6) on Saturday, November 27, at 4 pm at the McDowell Activity Center.
Last Time Out
The Marauders won their game last Saturday 80-48 over Dickinson State University. 13 Marauders found their way on the scoresheet.
Addison Rozell led the team in scoring with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting while also grabbing four rebounds.
Lexie Schneider had 11 points and seven rebounds in only 12 minutes of action.
Megan Zander finished the game with nine points and five rebounds.
Megan Voit had nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the arc while also contributing three assists.
About The Opposition
Minot State University has begun the season with a 2-5 record. Last year MSU went 4-10 in the Covid shortened season. The Marauders swept the Beavers 2-0 last season. Junior forward Amber Stevahn led MSU in scoring with 19.3 ppg. Junior guard Kate Head leads the Beavers in assists with 29 total. Leading MSU in rebounds is sophomore forward Natasha Elliott, who averages 4.7 rebounds per game.
Presentation College has a 2-6 record overall. Junior center Brittiney Seymour leads PC in scoring as she averages 10 ppg. Seymour also leads the team in blocks (1.1 bpg), rebounds (7.1 rpg) and assists (2.1 apg). Junior guard Emma Ogitchida is second on the Saints in scoring with 9 ppg and rebounding with 4.8 rebounds per game.

Megan Zander leads the team in scoring with 12.7 ppg. She's shooting .480 from three on 12-of-25 shooting.
Macy Williams leads the Marauders in assists with 20 and is second on the team in scoring with 10.7 ppg.
Lexie Schneider leads UMary in field goal percentage (.595%) and rebounding with 9.1 rpg.
Megan Voit is the team leader in three-pointers made with a total of 15.
Addison Rozell is averaging 8.4 ppg and 5.7 rpg on .543% shooting.

Notable returners to the Marauders include

Megan Voit. Schneider led the NSIC in rebounding and was second on the team in scoring with 12.5 ppg.
Voit led the team in total three-pointers made with 22 while averaging 7.9 ppg.
Williams was first in the NSIC in assists with 75. Williams ranks 7
th all-time for the University of Mary in assists.

Head coach
Rick Neumann is fourth all-time in coaching wins at UMary with 137. In his ninth season, he has a record of 137-120. Hall of Fame coach Roger Haug is the Marauders all-time leader in wins (234), followed by Fred Fridley (170), Cal Collins (150) and Neumann (137).
UMary brought in two assistant coaches
Brooke LeMar and
Chloe Wanink for the 2020-21 season. LeMar was a two-time all-conference after spending her collegiate career at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University. She then went on to play professionally in several countries including Denmark, Germany, Australia and Sweden. LeMar worked as the Director of Player Development at the California Baptist University.
Wanink was a four-year all-conference performer at NCAA Division I Wofford University. She was a three-year captain at Wofford and led the Southern Conference in scoring her junior season averaging 21 points per game. She was named the 2019-20 SoCon Preseason Player of the Year and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard watchlist.
