THIS WEEK
The University of Mary softball team is set to play in a trio of NSIC doubleheaders this week. The Marauders start the week off with a doubleheader at home on Wednesday, April 3 at 11 AM and 1 PM. They will then travel to take on Minnesota Duluth at 1 PM and 3 PM on Saturday, April 6. The Marauders close out the weekend against St. Cloud State on Sunday, April 7 at 12 PM and 2 PM.

THE RECORD
UMary comes into this weeks games with a 11-15 overall record, going 2-4 in NSIC play.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Marauders took to the field was for the teams first six games of conference plays. The Marauders split the series against Minot State and Minnesota State. UMary was then swept by Concordia - St. Paul. The Marauders had a tremendous week swinging the bats recording a total of 14 extra base hits and eight homeruns.
Brieann Backes earned a pair of wins for UMary.

OPPO RESEARCH – NORTHERN STATE
Northern State comes into the games against UMary with a 10-18 record, going 2-4 in NSIC play. Rachel Reinke leads the Wolves offense with a .392 average, recording 29 hits and a slugging percentage of .595. Andrea Cherney leads NSU from the mound with a 3.73 ERA and four wins.

OPPO RESEARCH – MINNESOTA DULUTH
Minnesota Duluth comes into the week with a 13-12 record, going 4-2 in NSIC play. Jordyn Thomas leads the team with 24 hits, seven doubles and four homeruns. Sam Pederson leads the team from the mound with a 2.77 ERA and a 7-4 record.

OPPO RESEARCH – ST. CLOUD STATE
St. Cloud State comes into the week with a 20-10 record, going 2-4 in NSIC play. Jasmin Estrada leads the team with a .472 batting average, .820 slugging percentage, 42 hits, eight doubles, and seven homeruns. Kate Kopeck leads the team from the mound with a 10-4 record and a 2.19 ERA.

The Marauders have struck out 91 batters so far this season.
Brieann Backes leads the team with 56 strikeouts.

Three different Marauders have three or more homers so far this season.
Kylie Alto leads the way with five. Right behind her is

Triples are hard to come by, it takes great ball placement and speed to get all the way to third.
Mariah Sanchez has proven to be an expert when it comes to triples, recording a team high of four.
Rebekkah Keller adds three of her own.

PUTTING THE BALL IN PLAY
Putting the ball into play is of the utmost importance and the Marauders excel at it. The Marauders average over eight hits per game as a team. Keller leads the way with 37 hits on the season.
Kasidy Chileen (31) and
Paige Matsuki (26) join Keller in recording 25 or more hits so far this season.

UMary has recorded 34 doubles this year. Noble leads the way with eight. Berube and Matsuki are right behind her with six each.

Rebekkah Keller is a thief on the bases, recording a team high of thirteen stolen bases.

NSIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kasidy Chileen earned NSIC player of the week honors for her performance at the Minot Dome Tournament. Chileen posted a .571 batting average after going 8-of-14 with six RBIs and two runs scored over the four games. The Brooklyn Center, Minnesota native also had a double and a walk on the week as well.

UP NEXT
The Marauders will host Minnesota Crookston on Wednesday, April 10 at 2 PM and 4 PM. They will follow that up by hitting the road to take on Augustana on Saturday April 13 at 1 PM and 3 PM followed by Wayne State on Sunday, April 14 at 12 PM and 2 PM.
