2019
Brieann posted an overall 5.72 ERA. Appeared in 31 gamaes, While starting 23 of those, she threw 15 complete games and produced 84 strikeouts on the year. She recorded 12 wins with the Marauders.  She was also named to the NSIC Spring All-NSIC Academic team.

2018
Brieann posted a 3.85 overall, 3.44 in conference ERA, started 21 games and threw 8 complete games for the Marauders with 103.2 innings pitched and 64 strikeouts on the year. She recorded 9 wins with the Marauders. Brieann recorded a .250 BA in her 4 in-conference at bats.  She was also named to the NSIC Spring All- Academic team.

2017
Coming into the season Brieann was tabbed as the NSIC pitcher to watch for the Marauders. With a spectacular showing on the year, she earned NSIC Second-Team All-Conference honors. She had 12 complete games of the 27 games she started, with 3 shutouts and 1 save. She was credited with 10 wins on the season and logged 146.1 innings pitched with 75 strikeouts. Brie was also named to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2016
She started 15 of 30 games she appeared in while pitching for the University of Mary. She had 6 complete games with 122 innings pitched. She tallied 5 wins and 44 strikeouts on the season.

PRIOR TO UMARY
A two-sport athlete from Minot, N.D., Brieann joined U-Mary after a successful career at Bishop Ryan Catholic School. A four-year letter winner in softball as a pitcher/third baseman, Backes was named All-Region and All-State her senior year while leading Bishop Ryan to three WDA Region Championships and three Class A State runner up finishes. Daughter of Karla and Jon Backes, Brieann is pursuing a degree in exercise science as she attends the University of Mary.
