BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary Tennis team is set to compete in the NSIC Tournament on Saturday, April 13 at 4:30 PM in Minnetonka, MN. The Marauders will compete in the tournament as the #5 seed. UMary battles the four seed, Minnesota Duluth in the first round.
The Marauders come into tournament play with a 13-5 overall record with a 7-4 conference record. UMD finished the regular season with an 11-4 overall record, going 8-3 in the Northern Sun.
The winner of the Marauders vs Bulldogs match up will continue on into the second round on Sunday, April 14 at 8 am against the winner of the Augustana vs SMSU match. The championship match will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 12 PM.
UMary and UMD battled in a highly competitive match earlier this season. The Bulldogs came out on top 4-3 in a match that was decided by the final two players on the court.
Tasha Dembo has a 14-4 record in #1 singles which is the second best winning percentage in the conference for #1 singles (.778).
Yusra Hegy has the third best winning percentage in #2 singles (.812) with her 13-3 record.
Jamie Stoppler leads the NSIC in #4 singles with a winning percentage of .867 and a 13-2 record.
The doubles team of
Jamie Stoppler and
Danielle Wolf have the best winning percentage in the conference out of all doubles pairs. The duo has a 15-2 record with a .882 winning percentage.
