UMary Tennis Heads To Orlando For Five Matches Over Spring Break

ORLANDO, FL – The University of Mary tennis team travels to the Sunshine State for five matches over spring break. The Marauders kick off play against Coe College on Thursday, March 7 at 11:30 AM CST. They will follow that up with four matches over the following five days against Otterbein University, Piedmont College, Missouri Western State, and Millersville University.
 
The Marauders come into this weekends matches with a 7-2 record, going 6-2 in NSIC play. UMary has won seven of their last eight matches.
 
Coe College just got their season underway this week. They kicked off their spring schedule in Orlando and have started off 1-1, falling in their most recent match.
 
Otterbein comes into the match against UMary with a 3-1 record. They dropped their first match of the season but have since won three straight. They will battle the Marauders on Friday, March 8 at 11:30 AM CST.
 
Piedmont College has a 2-0 record. They have dominated their first two matches of the season. They are a combined 6-0 in doubles play and 11-1 in singles play so far this season. UMary will take on the Lions on Saturday, March 9 at 3 PM CST.
 
Missouri Western State boasts a 4-2 record. They lost their most recent match but before that they had strung together four straight wins. The Marauders will take on the Griffons on Sunday, March 10 at 10 AM CST.
 
The Marauders will then have a day off before taking on Millersville University on Tuesday, March 12 at 8 AM CST. Millersville has yet to kick off their spring season and will do so at the Spring Break Tournament.
 
The last time the Marauders took the court was for two dominant wins. UMary started off the weekend by sweeping Upper Iowa 7-0. They followed that up with a 6-1 victory over Winona State. Tasha Dembo, Yusra Hegy, Jamie Stoppler, Danielle Wolf, and Kali Askvig all went undefeated in singles play of the weekend. The teams of Kali Askvig / Kelsey Lajom and Jamie Stoppler / Danielle Wolf both went undefeated in doubles play.
 
The Marauders look to continue their successful season this week.
