Marauders Softball Goes 1-1 On Final Day Of Minot Dome Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MINOT, ND – The University of Mary softball team closed out the Minot Dome tournament by splitting the two games on the day. The Marauders started the day slow, falling to Valley City State 7-0. They picked it up in the second game dropping Minnesota Crookston 10-3, UMary recorded a season high of 16 hits against the Golden Eagles. UMary improves to 3-5 on the season.

UMary battled VCSU this morning at the Minot Dome Tournament. The Vikings came into the game ranked #25 in the nation in NAIA. UMary struggled to get their bats going, only recording three hits on the game. VCSU recorded nine hits and seven runs to beat the Marauders 7-0.
 
PIVOT POINT
The Vikings put up three runs in the fourth inning to break a previously scoreless game. VCSU added three more runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Mariah Sanchez went 1-3 with a triple
 
Rebekkah Keller went 1-3 and had one stolen base

Five of the nine hits for the Vikings were doubles.
 
GAME 2 Minnesota Crookston 3 UMary 10
The Marauders got their bats going again against Minnesota Crookston recording 16 hits and 10 runs. The Marauders were efficient in the field recording zero errors. A four run third inning and a five run sixth inning propelled the Marauders to victory. Brieann Backes earns the win from the mound.    
 
PIVOT POINT
Emma Noble knocked in a three run homerun in the third inning to give the Marauders a 5-2 lead. The Marauders trailed 2-1 entering the third inning.

Emma Noble goes 2-4 with a homerun and 3 RBI's
