BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary tennis team travels to Grand Forks, ND to take on the University of Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State University this weekend. The Marauders will kick off the weekend against UMC on Friday, February 22 at 3:30 PM. UMary will follow that up with a match against BSU on Saturday, February 23 at 8:30 AM.
The Marauders come into this weekends matches with a 4-1 record, going 3-1 in NSIC play. UMary has won four straight matches.
Minnesota Crookston comes into the match against UMary with a 0-5 record, going 0-4 in NSIC matches. The Golden Eagles have struggled, only managing to record a point in one of their five matches so far this season.
Bemidji State comes into the match against the Marauders with a 4-4 record. The Beavers are 1-3 in the NSIC. BSU is on a two match losing streak but before that they had won three of four matches.
The last time the Marauders took to court was for three wins over a two day period. The Marauders kicked the weekend off with a 6-1 win over Minnesota State. This was UMary's first win over MSU since the 2014 season. The Marauders followed that up with a 5-2 victory over Gustavus Adolphus College. Less than an hour after beating GAC, UMary took the court to take on Southwest Minnesota State. The fatigued Marauders didn't slow down, beating the Mustangs 4-3.
Jamie Stoppler led the Marauders going 3-0 in both singles and doubles play.
Yusra Hegy made her season debut and went undefeated in #2 singles play.
The Marauders look to continue their successful season this weekend.
