Bismarck, N.D. – The University of Mary men's soccer team officially opens their season this week in Portland, Ore., where the Marauders will take on Concordia University. Kick off between the Marauders and the Cavaliers is set for 6 pm Pacific / 8 pm Central time.

Coach Dave Cook enters his 11th season at the helm of the Marauders men's soccer team. He looks to lead the team to a successful season.

The Marauders already have a scrimmage and two exhibition games under their belt, winning both exhibition games by two or more goals. In these games the Marauders have shown that they are no stranger of the goal, scoring three or more counters in each match. The team will look to continue the winning trend as they enter the season.

Keep an eye out for senior midfielders Alberto Asencio and André Almqvist, both of whom recorded goals and assists in preseason games and were team leaders during the 2017 season. Another player to keep an eye on is the 2017 season leader in goals, Joel McIlroy, who already has recorded a goal in his one scrimmage appearance.

The Marauders will have their home opener this Sunday, September 2, at 1 pm on the University of Mary campus field. UMary will take on the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Hardrockers. Come check out the Marauders as they embark on the 2018 season.
