Box Score ORLANDO – Stepping out of conference play for the first time all season, the University of Mary tennis team opened up their spring trip with a sweep of an overmatched Morningside College squad 9-0.
 
Facing a limited Mustangs team that dressed four players, the Marauders captured all six matches decided on the court while also picking up three forfeits, in in doubles and two in singles.
 
UMary grabbed a quick two wins as Tasha Dembo and Eileen Leong combined to capture #1 doubles 8-1 while Lucia Bolibruch and Kelsey Lajom shut out their opponents at #2 doubles 8-0.
 
After making her Marauders debut with a doubles win, Dembo claimed a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #1 singles.
 
The closest match of the day was at #2 singles where Bolibruch earned a 7-5, 7-5 straight set win.
 
Mixing up the lineup at #3 and #4 singles, freshman Emily Bichler won her singles debut 6-3, 6-4 while senior Shanna Stenson earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
 
 UMary next faces Northwestern (IA) College on Wednesday, March 7.
