Box Score BISMARCK, ND – Fittingly on Senior Day, a pair of the University of Mary seniors carried the Marauders to victory. Eileen Leong and Cristina Bremar claimed the final two singles matches of the day as UMary edged visiting Southwest Minnesota State University 5-4.
   
In a tight Northern Sun dual that featured four tiebreakers, the Marauders opened with a pair of wins in doubles and a victory at the #1 singles before the Mustangs rallied to capture a trio of singles.
   
With UMary trailing 4-3 with two matches still continuing, Bremar dug deep to pull out the #5 singles match in a tiebreaker. After losing the opening set 6-3 to Paige Janka, Bremar rolled to a 6-0 win in the second set. The senior then continued her forward momentum with a 10-5 victory in the tiebreaker to even the match.
   
The last match of the night belonged to Leong and she made the most of her opportunity. After winning a close opening set 6-4 at #3 singles over Hannah Starke, the Pierre, SD, native made quick work to finish the match with a 6-1 win in set two and earning the Marauders their second victory of the season.
   
Leong also had a hand in one of the Marauders early wins, pairing with freshman Emily Bichler for an 8-6 victory at #2 doubles. Lisa Anderson and Danielle Wolf joined forces for the Marauders other doubles win, an 8-4 victory in the #3 slot.
   
Lucia Bolibruch earned the Marauders other win in another marathon match. The sophomore split the first two sets 6-1, 3-6 against Gabby Tellijohn before rallying late to win the tiebreaker 10-8 and claim the #1 singles match. 
   
Before the first home match of the season for the Marauders, the Marauders honored seniors Bremar, Leong and Shanna Stevenson.
   
The Marauders (2-3 overall / 2-3 NSIC) conclude their only home weekend of the season against Minnesota State University on Saturday, February 24. The match is slated to start at 12:30 pm at Capital Racquet and Fitness.
