Box Score FARGO, ND – A furious rally capped by Cristina Bemar's win in a super tiebreaker led the University of Mary to a 5-4 win over St. Cloud State University. It was the Marauders first win over the Huskies in four years.
 
The Marauders claimed one win in doubles play and captured the bottom four singles, winning at #3 #4, #5 and #6 to pick up the program's first win of the season and earn a split of Northern Sun matches on the opening weekend.
 
For the second straight day, the combination of senior Eileen Leong and freshman Emily Bichler earned a win at #2 doubles, defeating Abby Scheck and Ann Marie White 8-3.
 
The Huskies claimed the other two doubles matches and posted wins at #1 and #2 singles to grab a 4-1 lead.
Fresh off her doubles win, Leong started the Marauders rally with a 6-3, 6-2 win over White in the #3 singles match.
 
Needing wins in the three remaining matches, sophomore Danielle Wolf and freshman Julie Donnelly kept the Marauders hopes alive. Wolf delivered a 6-4, 6-3 straight set win over Melissa Nierenhausen at #4 singles. Donnelly dominated the first set of the #6 singles match and earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Sommer Kopff for her first collegiate win.
 
In the last remaining match, Bremar shut out Scheck in the opening set 6-0 in #5 singles. Scheck rallied to claim the second set 6-4 to set up the super tiebreaker. Consistently connecting on her serves, Bremer captured the tiebreaker 10-7 to deliver the Marauders first win of the short season.
 
The Marauders next compete at Augustana and Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD, on Feb. 17-18.
