Mankato, MN – The University of Mary volleyball continued their road trip into Minnesota to take on the Minnesota State University, Mankato Mavericks. The Marauders continued to bring great energy just like they did in the previous two matches. Despite the tremendous effort, the Marauders fell in three sets to the Mavericks (25-18, 25-22, 25-15).
The Marauders fall to 3-16 on the season and 0-11 in NSIC play. The Mavericks are 13-6 and 6-5.
In the first set, the Mavericks jumped out to a quick 10-1 lead. The Marauders battled hard to get themselves back into contention for the set but the early run by the Mavericks was just too much to overcome as UMary dropped the first set 25-18.
The Marauders came out with something to prove in the second set, grabbing to an early lead. UMary was able to hold onto their edge late in the set at 21-20 before the Mavericks went on a 5-1 run to seal the deal and clinch the second set 25-22.
UMary kept the third set close early, trailing MSU 11-9. The Mavericks then went on a 10-3 run to pull away 21-12. This lead was too big for the Marauders to overcome in a 25-15 setback in the final set of the match.

Julianna Hughes with two apiece.
