The University of Mary Marauders

2018 Season
Played in 27 matches, recorded 29 kills, 567 assists, 29 service aces and 168 digs.  Averaged 6.30 assists per set which ranked 14^th in the NSIC and first on the team. Also averaged 0.32 service aces per set which ranked 15^th in the NSIC and the highest on the team. Murphy was also awarded NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.

2017 SEASON
During her freshman campaign, playing in 9 matches, Murphy totaled 46 assists, 2 service aces, and 21 digs. The daughter of Dan and Laura Murphy, Sydney plans on pursuing a degree in marketing and business administration at the University of Mary.
 
PRIOR TO UMARY
At Legacy High School in Bismarck, ND, Murphy was a two-time All-State and All-Conference player. Murphy was a First-Team All-State Class A player and an All-Tournament team selection. She was also a two-time Bismarck Quarterback Club recipient for her efforts. Sydney was a three sport athlete in high school, and joins the Marauders as a setter.
 
In her senior season for the Legacy volleyball team, Murphy recorded 196 kills, 391 digs, 859 assists, 79 service aces and 10.5 total blocks. In her career at the high school level, Murphy collected 453 kills, 146 service aces, 855 digs, 1,967 assists and 21.5 total blocks.
 
The team captain and most valuable player in her junior year, Murphy excels off the volleyball court as well. She was in National Honors Society, Relay for Life and was a youth official for basketball and volleyball.
