FARGO, N.D. – A big day for the University of Mary long jumpers, featuring
Luxon Glor, and a title for
Derek Myers headlined the Marauders efforts at the Lyle Hokanson Classic.
A freshman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Glor led the Marauders to a sweep of the top three slots in the long jump while also claiming second in the triple jump.
Glor sailed 23-3.75 for the win in the long jump. Right behind him was fellow freshman
Riley Miller while senior
Dustin Rueb placed third. Miller covered 22-7.25 while Rueb went 22.0.25.
In the triple jump, Glor was second overall but had the top mark for a student-athlete attached to a collegiate team. Glor traveled 45-11.25 for the top mark also among Northern Sun competitors.
Myers also joined Glor on the winner's podium. The sophomore from Gillette, Wyo., captured the 5,000 meter run, covering the distance in 15:34.95 in his first time running the event collegiately.
Thomas Neale had a strong performance in the steeplechase. The senior from Billings, Mont., cruised through the course in 9:37.51 to take second, just a scant 4.1 seconds out of first.
In the 800 meter run, freshman
Teegan Olson placed fourth in a time of 1:57.20. Another freshman,
Marceau Jovin, ran the 110 meter hurdles in 15.91 seconds to also claim fourth.
Joe Berger placed fifth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6-4. In the 400 meter hurdles,
Adam Cebulla was fifth in 57.90. Also claiming a fifth-place finish was
Tyrell Rosencranz after covering 44-5.50 in the triple jump.
The Marauders return to action at the Al Cassell Relays on April 30 in Jamestown, N.D.
