BISMARCK, N.D. - The University of Mary won its first set in the last five matches but Wayne State College hit .328 in the match to win 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 24-14 and 25-18) on Senior Day Saturday, Nov. 5.

Lauren Randall led the way for the Marauders (9-18, 4-14 NSIC) with 23 kills and 11 digs. She also hit .383 in the four sets.
Thayna Silva finished second on the team with 13 kills and posted 13 digs in the final regular season home match for the Marauders.

Geovana Almeida finished with 13 digs for the home team.

The Wildcats (20-6, 11-6 NSIC) hit a blazing .545 in the first set to take an early 1-0 lead in the match but the Marauders fought back in the second set and hit .516 to even the match at 1-1.

Unfortunately, Mary had back-to-back sets hitting under .100 and failed to score 20-plus points in the final two sets.

Five student-athletes played their final regular season home match in a Blue & Orange uniform.

Seniors
Alex Brown finished with seven digs,
Janell Finkbeiner recorded 48 assists and five digs,
Rachel Astrup finished with two kills and one dig and
Elizabeth Garcia tacked on three kills for Mary.

The Wildcats had four student-athletes record double-digit kills as Erin Gross finished with a team-high 14 kills and hit .400 in the match.

The Marauders will play its final two matches on the road against Southwest Minnesota State at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 and against Sioux Falls at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.
