MARSHALL, Minnesota - The University of Mary was shutout for the 12th time this season as No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State beat the Marauders 3-0 (25-17, 25-17 and 25-13) Friday, Nov. 11.

The Mustangs (25-4, 17-2 NSIC) hit .402 in the match to Mary's .126 and finished with a .472 hitting percentage in the third and final set.

Thayna Silva finished with a team-high 10 kills as
Lauren Randall added seven more but three Mustangs finished with double-digit kills in the match.

SMSU used a small 3-0 run to pull ahead 16-12 in the first set and scored four of the final five points in the set to collected the victory.

The Marauders (9-19, 4-15 NSIC) fell behind early in the second set, as SMSU led 9-3 in the set and Mary was unable to rally any sort of comeback as the Mustangs took a 19-10 lead late in the set.

The third started the same as the previous set and the Mustangs took a 9-3 lead and rode that the whole way to 25 points as the Marauders were only able to score 13 points in the set.

Freddie Campbell finished with five kills as
Janell Finkbeiner collected 21 assists and Silva led the team in digs with nine.

The Marauders will play its final regular season match against Sioux Falls Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. in Sioux Falls, S.D.
