The University of Mary women's basketball has won three straight and starts Northern Sun play this week. The Marauders host Yellowstone Christian College Monday at 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday in-state rival Minot State travels to Bismarck, N.D., for a conference match-up. Last time out: The Marauders are coming off a win 68-61 against Lake Superior State where five Mary student-athletes scored in double-figures.

Cassie Askvig lead the team with 16 points apiece but
Lauren Rotunda and
Gabbie Bohl chipped in 12 of their own.
Hannah Larson also finished with 10 points for Mary. The Marauders shot 47 percent from the field and the three-point line and held the Lakers to a 25 percent clip from beyond the arc. Mary scored 15 points off 16 Laker turnovers, received 16 points from its bench and scored 20 points in the paint. The Marauders led most of the game as there was three lead changes but Mary controlled the fourth quarter and took its largest lead of the game, 13 points with 6:21 left in the final quarter. After committing 20-plus turnovers in four of its first five game, the Marauders turned the turnovers down in the last two games. Last week against PC and LSSU, Mary commit just 12.5 turnovers per contest.
Magic Number: 40 - The Marauders have shot at least 40 percent from the field in its last three games. Mary has shot at least 40 percent in five of its seven games this season.Â
Scouting Yellowstone Christian College: Yellowstone Christian College is 1-5 this season with its lone win over Fort Peck College in a forfeit. The Centurions are on a five-game losing streak and are being outscored 427-253 in six games this season. YCC defense is allowing on average 70.3 points per contest. The 2016-17 season for the Centurions is the first ever in school history as the college announced on May 11, 2016 that the team would debut this season. The Centurions are a young team with eight of its nine players being freshmen. The ninth member of the team is a junior. history. The institution is located in Billings, Mont. Â
Recent History: Since joining Division-II, the Marauders have never faced the Centurions on the basketball court.
Scouting Minot State: Minot State is 1-4 this season and is coming off a 88-94 loss to the University of Jamestown. The Beavers are being outscored 413-362 in five games this season and are averaging 72 points per game. MSU is shooting 42 percent from the field and 39 percent from the three-point line. The Beavers are averaging 8.8 three pointers per contest. Offensively, MSU is led by Kari Clements and Mariah Payne. Clements is averaging 14.0 points per game this season, 3.4 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per game. Payne is average 13.4 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game. However, Payne hasn't started a single game yet this season and also leads the team in three-point percentage, hitting 48 percent of her shots from beyond the arc. Seven MSU student-athletes are averaging at least seven points a game and 11 Beaver student-athletes have recorded at least one rebound per game. The Beavers have been using an 11-player rotation and six student-athletes have started at least one game for them.

Recent History: Dating back to 2006 the Marauders and Beavers have played 10 games against each other. However, Mary has lost the last two contests including a 75-67 defeat last December.
