Janell Finkbeiner finished with 19 assists and became the new career assists leader for the Marauders in the Division II era but Winona State rolled to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-11 and 25-14) Northern Sun win.

Finkbeiner entered the match with 2,327 career assists, nine behind leader Emily Turkowski who collected 2,336 assists from 2010-2013.

But in the second set, Finkbeiner broke that three year old record after setting teammate
Thayna Silva up for a kill.

Silva finished with six kills and five digs as
Lauren Randall finished with a team-high eight kills and hit .250 in the match.

The Warriors (21-3, 12-3 NSIC) finished with a .453 hitting percentage as the Marauders (9-15, 4-11 NSIC) hit just .127 in the three sets.

WSU had 27 more kills than Mary and finished with four more service aces but just finished with one more block compared to the visiting team (3-2).

Taylor Goar and Danielle Rampart finished with 14 and 10 kills for the Warriors as McKenna Larsen collected 37 assists and teammate Jamie Cairncross posted 19 digs.

Geovana Almeida finished with a team-high seven digs for the Marauders and
Alex Brown added five more for the Blue & Orange.

Mary trailed early in the first two sets but came out with some fire in the third set, leading 5-2 early. However, the Warriors quickly took a 13-7 lead after four straight kills from four different student-athletes and won the final set, 25-14.

With the loss the Marauders drop its third straight match and will face Upper Iowa next at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.
