MOORHEAD, Minn. – Double winners
Luxon Glor and Faith Kjelstrup headlined the University of Mary men's and women's indoor track & field efforts at the Cobber Duals. Overall the Marauders men's team captured four titles and the 10
th ranked women's squad picked up five victories.
A freshman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Glor captured both the long jump and the triple jump, both times edging teammates. Glor won the triple jump with an effort of 46-07.50, taking the event by more than a foot. He exploded for the win in the long jump with a top effort 21-11.50.
Kjesltrup won both the triple jump and the 60 meter dash. The All-American sailed 37-03.75 to easily win the event, outdistancing the runner-up by 1-3.50. The Glendive, Montana, native then blew through the 60 meters in 7.89 seconds. Kjelstrup also took third in the 200 meter dash in 26.16 seconds and third in the long jump (16-10.00).
Marceau Jovin captured the other title for the men's squad. The freshman from Toronto, Ontario, cleared the 60 meter hurdles in 8.37 seconds.
In the 800 meter run, senior
Nathan Inkman posted a time of 2:01.80 to win the event. Gabriel Wyllie claimed third at 2:03.22.
Several other Marauders finished with high marks.
Corey Berner claimed second in the 60 meter dash in 7.15 seconds. He later finished fourth in the 200 meter dash (23.25 seconds).
Tyler Erickson was second in the one mile run with a time of 4:27.53.
In the long jump, freshman
Riley Miller placed second to Glor with an effort of 21-08.75. Senior
William Kaigler was second in the triple jump after sailing 45-06.25.
Freshman
Sam Mackedanz was third in the high jump after clearing the bar at 6-04.25.
Senior
Andrew Dubiel claimed second in the shot put. The native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, had a top toss of 45-09.75.
For the women, freshman Maria Bolibruch edged teammate Molly McDonald 9.00 seconds to 9.01 seconds to win the 60 meter hurdles.
Tonie-Ann Pandohie led a 1-2-3 Marauders finish in the 200 meter dash. The sophomore All-American posted a clocking of 25.58 seconds to outpace teammates Chante Spotser (26.15 seconds) and Kjelstrup.
In her first race of the indoor season, Katelyn Engh claimed the top slot in the one mile run. The junior covered the distance in 5:22.46.
Kaycee Luke was third in the pole vault with a top effort of 11-01.00.
The Marauders next compete at the Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato, Minnesota, on February 6.
