Box Score DES MOINES, Iowa - On the tail end of the 2015 Jamboree, the University of Mary Men's Soccer team took on the University of Illinois-Springfield to conclude their Iowa road trip.

The match came down to the golden goal in the first overtime and the Marauders (0-2) found themselves on the losing side as the Prairie Stars (2-0) came away with the 2-1 win in the 102nd minute of the match.

U-Mary pressed the early advantage as they fired off four shots, three on goal, in the first 22 minutes of the game, but the Prairie Stars stuck first in the 24th minute with a hot shot from Zachary Allevi finding the back of the goal and putting the Marauders in a 1-0 hole.

It didn't take long for U-Mary to notch the equalizer as
Aaron Brennan took a pass from
Migel Bartolo in the 31st minute and netted a shot to even the count at 1-1 with the Marauders looking to keep the shot advantage through the first half. U-Mary outshot Illinois-Springfield 7-3 in the first half but the Prairie Stars goalkeeper made four stops in the half.

The second half saw both teams trading shots without finding the goal as both keepers made five saves in the half. U-Mary's best opportunity started in the 63rd minute with
James Liddiard recording a shot on goal, followed by a Marauder corner kick and three more shots before the 70th minute, but couldn't find the net.

Illinois-Springfield put the pressure on at the end of regulation with two corner kicks and two shots on goal, but Marauder goalkeeper
Ludvig Rhodin ensured the game would remain tied with two saves and sent the game into overtime.

The extra time wouldn't last long, even as
Jordan Pearce's shot sailed wide left of the goal, Dylan Stockman recorded the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute off a pass from Allevi to hand U-Mary their second loss on the year with a 2-1 decision.

Liddiard and
Christoffer Nogueira led the offense with four shots apiece while Brennan only needed one opportunity to record his goal.

Rhodin finished the game with six saves as the Prairie Stars made 12 shots, eight on goal.

The Marauders will make another out-of-town trip on Friday, September 11, when they travel to Billings, Mont., to take on South Dakota School of Mines.
