This Week: The University of Mary Men's Soccer team will head out on the road for the weekend as they visit Nampa, Idaho, to take on #19 Northwest Nazarene Univeristy on Thursday, October 1, before traveling to Portland, Ore., to take on GNAC newcomer Concordia University (Ore.) on Saturday, October 3.

Coverage: Live stats will be available at goumary.com/coverage

NNU: The Crusaders are 6-1-1 on the year so far, with a 2-0-1 record in conferece. They defeated Concordia University (Ore.) at home last week before heading out on the road for a draw against Seattle Pacific University and a win over Saint Martin's University. Northwest Nazarene will have a dual-pronged attack featuring #6 Alex Mitrovic and #5 Abraham Placito as both players lead the team with four goals on the year. Supplementing the offense will be #7 Julio Castillo as he owns one goal on the year with a team-leading six assists. #1 Ryan Foo will get the start in goal and has responded well this year by only allowing four goals on 31 shots faced for a .871 save percentage and a 0.48 goals allowed average. The Marauders will need another strong defensive effort if they want to come away with an upset over the Crusaders.

CU: The Cavaliers own a 3-2-1 mark on the year with a 1-1-1 record in conference matches. Concordia lost to Northwest Nazarene early last week but rebounded with a win over Saint Martin's University and a hard fought draw against #3 Seattle Pacific. The Cavaliers will have a multitude of options on the offensive end of the pitch as they are led by #14 Matt Paine, who has two goals and four assists on the year, joined by #18 Ben Culpan with three goals, and #2 Brady Sanders with two goals. Concordia will feature one of two keepers in the net as #1 Mitch McCaw has appeard in five matches with three starts and a 0.81 goals allowed averaged and a .857 save percentage on 21 shots faced. The other potential keeper will be #33 Arne Niermann who has appeared, and started, in three matches with a 2.23 goals allowed average and a .688 save percentage on 16 shots faced. U-Mary will need the offense firing on all cylinders to secure the win.

Next Week: The Marauders return to Bismarck for the start of the final homestand of the year. First they will host Saint Martin's University on Thursday, October 8, before hosting #7 Seattle Pacific University on Saturday, October 10.

Last Week: U-Mary faced a tough defensive battle with Simon Fraser University with the Marauders allowing only one shot on goal despite the Clan taking 13 in the game. Neither team could find an opening throughout most of the match but James Liddiard finally broke through in the 89th minute when he took a pass from Christoffer Nogueira and beat the keeper one-on-one with a header shot to give U-Mary a 1-0 lead and the eventual win. The Marauders couldn't carry that momentum into the match against Western Washington as the Vikings struck first with two goals in the first half, but Jonathan Sellars responded with his first goal of the year with a header shot off a free kick from Aaron Brennan to cut into the lead at 2-1. Unfortunately, the offense couldn't break through the keeper after U-Mary took 11 shots on goal in the 3-1 loss.
