Marauder Open Track & Field Meet Set for Sunday, April 12, at Community Bowl

BISMARCK, N.D. – For the first time in nearly three years, the University of Mary men's and women's track & field team will have the opportunity to perform in front of their home fans. U-Mary will host the Marauder Open at the MDU Resources Bowl on Sunday, April 12.
 
Field events are set to start at 12 noon with running events scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
In addition to the Marauders, other schools scheduled to compete are the University of North Dakota, North Dakota State University, Minot State University, Bemidji State University and Dickinson State University.
 
The Marauder Open will feature some of the best athletes in the nation.
 
Headlining the U-Mary men's team is Aaron Teigen and Andrew Dubiel. A senior from Rugby, N.D., Teigen ranks 17th in the country in the triple jump and 29th in the long jump. Dubiel, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colo., is 23rd nationally in the discus.
 
Several members of the women's team are ranked among the nation's top 35:
  • Danylle Kurywchak (Cameron Park, Calif.) is second nationally in the triple jump and 23rd in the long jump
  • Alexis Zeis (freshman, Bismarck, N.D.) is 13th in the 5,000 meter run
  • Kathryn Stewart (senior, Kingston, Jamaica) is 15th in both the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash
  • Davina Carr (sophomore, Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) is 14th in the pole vault
  • Cassandra Jones (sophomore, North York, Ontario) is 31st in the 200 meter run and 34th in the 400 meters
  • The 4x100 meter relay team of Tonie Pandohie (freshman, Kingston, Jamaica), Melanie Rodriguez (sophomore, Burlington, Ontario), Jones and Stewart are 10th in the country
  • The 4x400 meter relay team of Josie Guptill (junior, Quinn, S.D.), Crystal Hovland (senior, Rugby, N.D.), Stewart and Jones rank 16th
