FARGO, N.D. - On the last day of their regular season, the University of Mary Women's Tennis team took on Winona State University in a match that would wrap up the conference schedule for both teams.
 
The Marauders (5-10, 5-6 NSIC) ended the season on a high note as they defeated the Warriors (6-10, 5-6 NSIC), 6-3, after Winona State had to surrender a few matches by default, but not before U-Mary had the match in hand.
 
Meredith Holt got one of the four non-default victories, as she defeated Katie Scruggs in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-0.
 
Anastasia Bruss followed that up with a straight set victory over Ellyn Grossen. Bruss had to work for her win as she took the first set, 7-6, after going to tiebreaker, but came back with a solid 6-0 win in the second set.
 
Courtney Brackin had the last singles win for U-Mary as she cruised to an easy straight set victory, 6-1 and 6-1, over Lauren Willkom.
 
In the doubles matchups, the duo of Holt and Brackin provided the lone, non-default, win as they defetad Scruggs and Grossen, 8-2.
 
For the default matches, Eileen Leong was awarded the first one at the number six singles spot, and the pair of Kate O'Connell and Bruss were awarded the second victory by default at the number three doubles spot.
 
On the year, U-Mary has a 5-6 record in conference, which places them in a tie with Winona State. However, the Marauders own the tiebreaker since they have the head-to-head victory and are currently standing seventh in conference, behind St. Cloud State University.
 
The Northern Sun tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25, in Minnetonka, Minn.
