BISMARCK, N.D. - Coming off a stellar 2014 season, the University of Mary Women's Tennis team opens up their 2015 season tonight with a match against Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The Marauders are looking to build off a season where they finished 14-4 as a team with a 10-1 record in the Northern Sun, second only to Augustana College.

U-Mary returns six players from the 2014 roster and will feature four new faces for this year.

Sarah Janes, a junior from Bismarck, N.D., gets the bill at the number one spot in singles; in 2014 she finished 11-4 in singles with an 8-3 record in conference. She also finished with a 9-8, 6-2 NSIC record in doubles alongside
Catherine Gibbens. She'll be featured tonight on the number one doubles team with Gibbens.

Kate O'Connell, a junior from Elk River, Minn., will not be featured on the starting six tonight against MSU Moorhead but will get the start on the number three doubles team with
Anastasia Bruss. O'Connell, a co-captain alongside Janes, finished 2014 with an 8-10, 6-5 NSIC record in singles, but excelled in doubles next to
Hallie Welk with a 15-3, 10-1 record.

Gibbens, a sophomore from Rapid City, S.D., is getting the start at the second position in singles for the matchup tonight. She finished 2014 with an 11-5, 7-4 NSIC record in singles and a 9-8, 8-3 record in doubles with Janes.

Meredith Holt, a sophomore from Lacrosse, Wis., will start at number three tonight and will be feature on the number two doubles team with
Eileen Leong. Holt finished 2014 with a 9-5, 5-3 NSIC record in singles, while adding a 9-6, 6-2 NSIC record in doubles next to Bruss.

Bruss, a sophomore from Rochester, Minn., starts at number four tonight on the singles side, in addition to her doubles assignment with O'Connell. In 2014, Bruss finished 10-7, 8-3 NSIC in singles, while compiling a 10-8, 7-4 NSIC record in doubles with Holt and
Hannah Smith as her partners over the season.

Leong, a freshman from Pierre, S.D., is one of the new faces on the roster and in the starting lineup for this year. She will get the call at the number five spot in the singles match, while pairing up with Holt in the doubles match.

Courtney Brackin, a freshman from Bismarck, N.D., is the second new face in the starting lineup tonight; she'll get the call at the number six spot on the singles side.

The Marauders will feature third year head coach
Vida Saliendra, who has compiled a 21-11 overall record, with a 16-7 record in conference.
Hallie Welk and
Hannah Smith will assist her this year off the court.
