MINNETONKA, Minn. - With their final Northern Sun match before their trip to Oklahoma, the University of Mary Women's Tennis team took on Southwest Minnesota State University today as the Marauders wrapped up their early season conference schedule.

The match turned into a blowout as the Marauders (2-5, 2-5 NSIC) defeated the Mustangs (1-7, 0-6 NSIC) as U-Mary swept all the singles matchups en route to an 8-1 victory.

Sarah Janes led off the Marauders at the number one spot and she coasted to an easy victory over Gabby Tellijohn, 6-0 and 6-2.

Catherine Gibbens got the call at the number two spot and earned a two-set victory over Crystal Overbaugh, 6-2 and 6-2.

Meredith Holt took on Katie Kienitz at the number-three matchup, and Holt earned the win after taking both sets in the matchup, 6-3 and 6-2.

Anastasia Bruss filled the number four spot for U-Mary and she earned a two-set sweep over Mariya Krumm, 6-1 and 6-1.

Eileen Leong had a tough matchup against Ashley Hoehne at the number five spot, but Leong proved her resiliency as she defeated the Mustang, 6-2 and 7-5.

Rounding out the six spot for the Marauders,
Courtney Brackin got the call against Nicole McQueen and Brackin came away with the victory in the match, 6-1 and 6-4.

The Marauders also earned victories in two of the doubles matches as
Kate O'Connell, along with Bruss, took on the duo of Hoehne and McQueen and the pair from U-Mary earned the victory, 8-2.

The other matchup the Marauders won was between Holt / Leong and Overbaugh / Krumm, and the Marauder pair easily dispatched the Mustangs, 8-3.

The last doubles matchup was between Janes / Gibbens and Tellijohn / Kienitz, but the Mustang couple came away with the lone victory on the match over the Marauder twosome, 8-5.

The Marauders will now head out to Ada, Oklahoma, where they will compete in four matches in as many days against Cameron University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, East Central University, and the University of Central Oklahoma.
