Cooper Headlines Marauders Efforts at the NSIC Men's Indoor Championships

MANKATO, Minn. – Jay Cooper claimed third in the 60 meter hurdles to post the top finish for the University of Mary at the 2015 NSIC/U.S. Bank Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
 
A sophomore from Rapid City, S.D., Cooper cleared the 60 meter barriers in a scant 8.60 seconds to finish third in the event. It was the Marauders best mark of the weekend.
 
A day after setting a school record in the 3,000 meter run to claim seventh place, Chris Jessop posted his best finish at the NSIC championships by claiming third in the 5,000 meter run. The junior from Corvallis, Mont., finished the longest event at the championships in 15:04.37.
 
Nathan Inkman placed for the second time at the 2015 NSIC championships. After running on a leg of the Marauders Distance Medley Relay team that finished sixth on the first day of the championships, Inkman claimed eighth in the 1,000 meter run with a clocking of 2:44.29.
 
William Kaigler took eighth in the triple jump. The junior covered a distance to 13.87 meters.
 
The Marauders collected 21 points and finished 11th overall. Minnesota State University placed first with 163 points.
