BEMIDJI, Minn. – In the final tune-up prior to the 2015 Northern Sun Indoor Championships, the University of Mary men's track and field team captured three wins and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark at the Bemidji State Twilight.
Jensen Roseboom had his biggest day of the season. The sophomore cleared the pole vault bar at 15' 3 ½" to win the event and post a provo qualifying mark. He is currently ranked 44
th in the country.
Travis Gavin, a senior, was rewarded with first place in the weight throw for his long toss of 55' 9 ¼" on the day. He also placed third in the shot put.
In the triple jump,
Jerrod Shaffner won by sailing 43' 10 ¾". The junior edged out teammate
Taren Staudinger, who placed second on a distance of 43' ¾".
Dustin Reub finished second in two events after clearing the high jump bar at 6' 4" and travelling 21' 4" in the long jump.
Bryce Eckman placed in the top six in to different events. The freshman was fifth in the 60 meter dash finals with a time of 7.50 seconds. He also was sixth in the 200 meter dash (24.41).
Austin Williams and
Austin Lemieux trailed only Roseboom in the pole vault, claiming second and third.
Adam Cebulla was third in the 600 meter run (1:28.50).
The Marauders next compete in the 2015 Northern Sun men's indoor track & field championships on Feb. 27-28.
