BROOKINGS, S.D. - A new school record by
Chris Jessop highlighted the University of Mary men's indoor track & field efforts at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic.
Jessop, a senior from Corvallis, Mont., placed fifth in the 5,000 meter run. He covered the distance in 14:46.43 to set a new U-Mary record.
The Marauders had two top-10 efforts in the triple jump.
William Kaigler took sixth after covering 13.75 meters in his best effort of the day.
Jerrod Shaffner was 10
th after leaping 13.38 meters.
In the weight throw,
Travis Gavin's top heave of 15.83 meters placed him 8
th.
Jay Cooper cleared the 60 meter hurdle barriers in 8.58 seconds to finish 8
th overall in the event.
In the 800 meter run,
Nathan Inkman claimed 11
th with a time of 1:56.47. There were 88 runners entered in the event.
Dustin Reub placed 12
th in the high jump with a top mark of 1.89 meters. His height tied for 10
th but the tiebreaker dropped him.
Jensen Roseboom tied for 11
th in the pole vault after skying 4.35 meters for his best mark of the day.
Next up for the Marauders is the BSU Alumni Meet on Feb. 20 in Bemidji, Minn.
