This Week: The University of Mary Men's Soccer team will conclude the home portion of their 2015 schedule when they host Concordia University (Ore.) on Thursday, October 15, at 4:00 PM, before facing Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 with the Marauders looking to avenge two losses from earlier in the season.

CU: The Cavaliers are 4-2-4 on the yera, with a 2-1-4 record for the first foray in one of the top conferences for men's soccer in the nation, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Concordia has fought to a draw against Simon Fraser University, Western Washington University, Seattle Pacific University when they were ranked third in the nation, and Montana State University Billings, while the lone loss came to Northwest Nazarene back in mid-September. Matt Paine continues to lead the Cavaliers on offense with seven goals and five assists for 19 points, while the next closest is Ben Culpan with three goals and Tyler Hoiem with two goals and one assist. Concordia is undecided as to who will start in goal with Mitch McCaw and Arne Niermann splitting time with five starts each, McCaw has alled six goals for a 0.89 goals allowed average and a .829 save percentage while Niermann has allowed eight goals for a 2.06 goals allowed average and a .636 save percentage.
NNU: The Crusaders have steadily climbed to the top of the GNAC with a 8-3-1 overall, 4-2-1 conference record and reached as high as #12 in the national polls, but took a bit of a stumble last week when they lost to Simon Fraser and Western Washington on the road. Northwest Nazarene's loss to Western Washington came on a golden goal in the first overtime and the only other blemish, if it can be called that, was a 0-0 draw against Seattle Pacific University back in late September. Julio Castillo leads the charge with three goals and a staggering eight assists for 14 points. Alex Mitrovic and Abraham Placito will provide options two and three as they both have four goals apiece but Placito has the advantage of fewer shots at 11 while Mitrovic has taken 24 on the year. Ryan Foo will get the start in goal for the Crusaders and he has stifled his opponents on the pitch with only eight goals allowed for a 0.64 goals allowed average and a .795 save percentage.
Next Week: The Marauders begin the great road exodus of 2015 as they play their final five matches on the road starting with a visit to the Pacific Northwest with a match against Western Washington in Bellingham, Wash., on Thursday, October 22, followed by a trek to Burnaby, B.C., to take on Simon Fraser on Saturday, October 24.
Last Week: U-Mary snaped out of their funk with a convincing 2-0 win over Saint Martin's University with both goals coming off the one-two combination of
Christoffer Nogueira to
Jonathan Sellars as Sellars scored the first goal off a free kick from Nogueira and followed that with a header shot off a corner kick from Christoffer once again. The Marauders followed that up with a solid defensive effort in the first half against #18 Seattle Pacific University before the floodgates opened and the Falcons fired off four goals on U-Mary as the frustrations became apparent.
