BISMARCK, N.D. – After a string of three overtime games in a row, the University of Mary made sure Senior Day ended in regulation. The Marauders scored the first three goals of the day and eased their way to a 3-1 win over visiting University of Sioux Falls.

The victory was the first Northern Sun win of the season for the Marauders, who improve to 2-2-3 overall and 1-1-2 in NSIC play. The Cougars slip to 0-6-1 and 0-4.

Michelle McGeary paced the Marauders offense, scoring a goal and adding an assist. The sophomore midfielder provided the Marauders a 1-0 lead when she took a feed from
Emily Christensen and finished from about five yards out of the goal in the 17
th minute. The counter was her team-leading fourth.

The Marauders doubled their lead to 2-0 just before intermission on a penalty kick caused when Cougars goalkeeper Jordan Crosby was issued a red card after taking down a U-Mary player inside the penalty box.
Megan Searson converted the penalty kick at the 41:06 mark for her first goal of the season.

U-Mary sealed the contest early in the second half on senior
Loren Sellers' first U-Mary goal. The transfer from the University of Wyoming buried the ball into the net from 10 yards out off a ball from McGeary in the 48
th minute.

The Cougars lone goal came on a Ciara Howerton penalty kick in the 66
th minute.

Playing 20 players in the contest, the Marauders held a 19-13 edge in shots and a 9-4 advantage in shots on frame.

U-Mary closes out its eight-game home stand against Southwest Minnesota State on Sept. 28. Game time is 1 p.m. at Reichert Field.
