This Week: The Marauders open up the season when they travel to Rapid City, S.D., to compete in the GNAC/MIAA challenge. They will play against Fort Hays State University on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m., and will round out the weekend with a match against Southwest Baptist University on Sept. 14.

Non-Conference: The Marauders dropped both non-conference games last year when they took on Fort Lewis College and Texas A&M International.
Fort Hays State University: The Tigers finished 12-5-3 in 2013 with a 6-1-2 record in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Assocation. Their season ended after a loss to the Lindenwood Lions in the NCAA D-II Men's Soccer Championship. They return this year with their second leading scorer in Diego Cabral, who finished with eight goals and seven assists in 1,598 minutes played. Jason Babyak and Kent Freund split time in the net, combining for 20 goals allowed, a 0.95 goals allowed average, 72 saves, .783 save percentage and nine shutouts. They are currently 1-1-0 with a victory over CSU-Pueblo and a loss to Drury University.Â
Southwest Baptist University: The Bearcats finished 0-16-1 in 2013 with a 0-9-1 record in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. They return without their two leading scorers, Kaleb Romero and Bradley Stillwagon, but will have Garrett Gibson, who was third on the team with two goals and one assist. Lajos Zadravecz split time in the net, finishing the year with 19 goals allowed for a 3.53 goals allowed average, 37 saves and a .661 save percentage. They are currently 0-3-0 with losses against Maryville University, Missouri S&T, and University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Next Week: The Marauders will open up the conference schedule with a game at South Dakota School of Mines on Friday, Sept. 19.
GNAC: Several schools have already begun the 2014 season. #2 Simon Fraser, 2-0-0, already has victories against Sonoma State and Hawaii Hilo. Seattle Pacific is currently 1-0-1 with a victory against Humboldt State and a draw coming against Chico State. Northwest Nazarene and Western Washington both have a 1-1-0 record going into the weekend. Northwest got its win over Cal State Stanislaus and lost to Cal State Monterey Bay, while Western Washington won against UC San Diego and lost to Cal State Los Angeles. Saint Martin's and South Dakota School of Mines round out the GNAC with 0-2-0 records, Saint Martins lost to UC San Diego and Cal State Los Angeles while South Dakota School of Mines lost to Illinois-Springfield and Upper Iowa.
Last Year: The Marauders finished 3-10-3 with a 3-8-3 record in the GNAC, placing seventh.
