Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla.—The University of Mary softball team (15-9) closed their trip to the Dot Richardson Spring Games with a split Sunday. U-Mary squeaked out 3-2 win over Queens College (1-3), before falling in their final game 3-0 to Urbana University (1-0).
Alana Norman extended her hitting streak to 20 games with an infield single in the first inning against Queens, but had her streak snapped against Urbana.

With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 6th,
Amber Gamboa delivered the game-winning RBI for the Marauders with a single to centerfield as U-Mary pulled out a 3-2 win over Queens.
Cherlyn Trujillo got the start for the Marauders in the circle and pitched a complete game, while striking out six.
With one out in the first, Norman extended her hitting streak to 20 games, but U-Mary was unable to capitalize.
With two outs in the second inning and a runner at first, the Knights delivered three consecutive hits as they scored two runs. The Marauders answered in the bottom of the inning as
Julissa Perales walked and
Taylor Mendez singled to start the inning. After Gamboa reached on a sacrifice bunt,
Demaree Rodriguez drove a two RBI single to centerfield to tie the game at 2-2.
Queens threatened to take the lead in the fifth inning with two singles and a walk, butb Trujillo ended the threat with a strikeout and a fly ball.
With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Perales singled up the middle and Mendez was hit by pitch. Gamboa followed with an RBI single to center to give U-Mary the lead.
The Knights went down in order in the top of the seventh as the Marauders held on for a 3-2 win.
Queens held a 6-5 edge in hits, but left seven on base to U-Mary's four.
Game 2: U-Mary 0 Urbana 3
A shaky first inning by U-Mary proved costly against Urbana as the Marauders spotted the Blue Knights three runs as they went on to fall 3-0.
After giving up three runs in the first inning,
Erin Keen got in a groove as she pitched all six innings for U-Mary and picked up a season-high 11 strikeouts.
A leadoff walk for the Blue Knights in the first inning set the tone as they connected on three hits to take a 3-0 lead. With runners at first and second and two outs, Keen struck out her third batter of the inning to end the threat.
Finishing with 11 strikeouts, Keen had eight strikeouts through three innings and allowed just one hit in her final five innings of work.
The Marauders only hit of the game came in the third inning as Rodriguez poked a single to left field.
U-Mary threatened in the fifth inning as Mendez reached on an error and
Francine Villalobos reached on a fielder's choice after striking out. After an infield fly, the Marauders had runners at second and third with two outs. The inning ended as U-Mary's next batter popped out to first.
U-Mary went down in order in the sixth and seventh as it fell 3-0.
The Marauders finished their trip to the Dot Richardson Spring Games with a 10-4 record. U-Mary will next be in action on March 25 as it heads to Minot State University to open Northern Sun play.
