Marauders swept by Mustangs

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARSHALL, Minn.—The University of Mary softball team (18-11, 3-3 NSIC) suffered a setback Sunday afternoon as it was swept by Southwest Minnesota State University (6-16, 3-3 NSIC). Errors and a lack of offense doomed the Marauders in the first game as they fell 10-2 in five innings. The Marauders answered in the fourth as Ormsby led off the inning with a double. A walk, two fielder's choices and an error gave U-Mary bases loaded with one out. The Marauders scored on a wild pitch, but were unable to muster a hit as the threat ended with just one run scored.

SMSU added three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to secure a 10-2 five inning win. Three of the Mustangs 10 runs were unearned.

GAME 2

Despite taking the lead just one out into the game and scoring in three of the first four innings, the Marauders fell to the Mustangs 4-3 in game two.

Demaree Rodriguez paced U-Mary's offense going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

The Marauders stranded two in the inning.

With just two hits through three innings, SMSU's offense came to life in the fourth and fifth scoring four runs on six hits to take a 4-3 lead.
